If London theatre breaks with hotel stays aren’t your thing did you know you can book coach trips to see your favourite musicals as day excursions in some cases? That can be very handy if you can’t afford the time or money for a full blown theatre weekend with dinner dance and all the rest of it, when you just want to see that new show or one you’ve always promised yourself. The way it works is that you have to join the coach from one of the departure points which are all within striking distance of London in a couple of hours or so. No good if you want to come from North Yorkshire, Edinburgh Wales, the South West or Manchester but from Birmingham and the midlands, East Anglia the South Coast and most of South East England you can do it on a day trip and return home not too late in the evening either.  The coach usually leaves in the morning, often a Saturday, and arrives in London theatreland in time for a light lunch before a matinee performance of one of almost a dozen tops musicals and shows in the West End. The driver shows you exactly where you will be picked up again after the show and you return promptly back to the same pickup point where you began the day trip.

For example to see a show like Spamalot from from £79.95 per person, departing from 20th Apr 2013 to 19th Oct 2013

The London Theatre Day Excursion includes all of the following:

  • A top priced ticket for the Saturday matinee show of your choice from a selection
  • Free time in London before the start of the show
  • Return coach travel from selected local departure points
  • VAT included in quoted prices
